We take the privacy of modSanctum users seriously. This Privacy Policy document explains the types of information modSanctum collects and how we use it. If you have additional questions or require more information about our Privacy Policy, do not hesitate to contact us.
When you create an account, you provide some personal information, including but not limited to name, username, password, and email address. On modSanctum, your username is listed publicly, including on your profile page and in search results. You can use either your real name or a pseudonym. We encourage you not to publicly reveal any personally identifying information while using our Services, including your real name.
You may use your contact information, such as your email address or phone number, to customize your account or enable Services like login verification. If you provide modSanctum with your phone number, you agree to receive text messages to that number from modSanctum and be responsible for any charges your phone provider may charge to receive text messages.
You may provide us with profile information to make public on modSanctum, such as a short biography, your location, your website, date of birth, an avatar, and links to your portfolio. On certain profile information fields, we provide you with visibility settings to select who can see this information in your profile. If you provide us with profile information and you don’t see a visibility setting, assume that information is public.
modSanctum is designed to help you share information with the world. Most of the information you provide on modSanctum is information you are asking us to make public, including forum posts, lists you create, users you follow, mods you upload, and other information (photos, videos, etc). We may use this information to make inferences, such as what topics you may be interested in, and to customize the content we show you, including ads.
Our default is almost always to make the information you provide through our Services public for as long as you do not delete it or make it private via the settings options on the website. Before sharing information online, you should think carefully about what you are making public.
modSanctum follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. Most hosting companies do this as a part of their analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks.
These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.
You authorize us to use your information in, and as a result to transfer it to and store it in, the United States and any other country where we operate. Privacy and data protection laws in some of these countries may vary from the laws in the country where you live.
Like most websites, modSanctum uses cookies to store information including visitor preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the user experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors’ browser types and other information.
For more general information on cookies, please read our Cookie Policy available on the Policies & Guidelines page.
We may share or disclose your information at your direction, such as when you authorize a third party web client or application to access your account. Other users may share or disclose information about you, such as when they mention your username in a post or share content you have shared on modSanctum.
We engage service providers to perform functions and provide services to us in the United States and other countries, for example to store mods uploaded to modSanctum. We may share your personal information with such service providers subject to obligations consistent with this Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures, and on the condition that the third parties use your private personal data only on our behalf and pursuant to our instructions.
If you make purchases via our Services, we may share your payment information with payment services providers to process payments, to prevent, detect and investigate fraud or other prohibited activities, to facilitate dispute resolution such as chargebacks or refunds, and for other purposes associated with the acceptance of credit or debit cards.
If you make a payment as part of a commerce transaction through our Services, we may provide the seller, commerce provider, marketplace or charity with your name, email address, shipping address, payment information and other transaction data to facilitate payment processing, order fulfilment and dispute resolution (including payment and shipping disputes) and to help prevent, detect and investigate fraud or other prohibited activities.
Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Policy, we may preserve or disclose your information if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to protect the safety of any person; to address fraud, security or technical issues; or to protect modSanctum’s rights or property. Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit any legal defenses or objections that you may have to a third party’s (including government) request to disclose your information.
We may share or disclose your public user profile information, public mods, public posts, public videos and images, and other public information to other users who are interested in your content, as well as sharing reports to advertisers about unique users who saw or clicked on their ads after we have removed any private personal information such as name and contact info.
Our Services are not intended for or directed to persons under age 13. modSanctum does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best to promptly remove such information from our records. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we take steps to remove such information and terminate the child’s account.
By using our website, you hereby consent to our Privacy Policy and agree to its Terms and Conditions. We regularly review our privacy safeguards and may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version of the policy will be posted on modSanctum and will govern our use of your information. You agree to be bound by any revisions to the Privacy Policy.
